About Mr Anderson
Training
Mr Anderson graduated from the University of Glasgow in 1992 and gained an MSc from University College London in 1999. He trained in plastic surgery in Scotland, with time at a microsurgery centre in Taiwan and at the Dallas Children’s Hospital, and completed UK plastic surgery training in 2008.
NHS practice
He has been an NHS consultant plastic surgeon in Edinburgh since 2008, with commitments at St John’s Hospital in Livingston, Edinburgh hospitals and children’s services in Fife. He is the clinical lead of the Laser Department at St John’s Hospital, runs a regional service for genitoperineal reconstruction and treats burns, trauma and skin cancer.
At Waterfront
Mr Anderson performs aesthetic breast and body surgery, and as a fully trained microvascular surgeon he also reconstructs the breast after mastectomy using the patient’s own tissue. He is a full member of BAAPS and sees patients and operates at Waterfront.
