Mr Omar Quaba is a fully accredited consultant plastic surgeon on the GMC Specialist Register, with over a decade of experience in cosmetic and reconstructive surgery. He holds the FRCS (Plast) qualification and was among the first surgeons in the UK to complete voluntary Cosmetic Certification by the Royal College of Surgeons.

Omar grew up in Edinburgh and studied medicine at Cambridge University, where he also gained a BA (Hons) in Medical Ethics, Psychology and the History of Medicine. He completed his specialist plastic surgery training in Aberdeen and at the Canniesburn Plastic Surgery Unit in Glasgow, followed by a fellowship at the Royal Adelaide Hospital in Australia, where he gained broad experience in microsurgery and complex reconstruction.

 

He was appointed as an NHS consultant in 2010 and left his NHS post in 2020 to focus exclusively on private practice. He is a co-founder and Hospital Director of Waterfront Private Hospital in Edinburgh, which he established with his father, Mr Awf Quaba. As well as leading the hospital, he continues to maintain a full surgical caseload in cosmetic and reconstructive procedures.

 

Mr Quaba has a particular interest in cosmetic breast surgery — including breast reduction, breast augmentation and breast lift — as well as body contouring procedures such as abdominoplasty, eyelid surgery, and facial rejuvenation.

 

He is a full member of the British Association of Plastic Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgeons (BAPRAS), the British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons (BAAPS), and the International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ISAPS).
