About the Role
Waterfront Private Hospital is a premium, independent private hospital in Edinburgh, specialising in cosmetic and reconstructive plastic surgery, skin surgery, and dermatology. We are known for delivering high-quality, patient-centred care in a calm, professional, and discreet environment.
We are now seeking an experienced Theatre Scrub Practitioner to join our theatre team. You will plan and deliver perioperative care for patients as part of the theatre team, providing skilled support to our surgeons and the wider multidisciplinary team.
This role would suit a registered nurse or theatre practitioner with scrub experience who is committed to surgical safety, infection prevention, and high standards of patient care.

Key Responsibilities
The Scrub Practitioner will be responsible for a wide range of perioperative duties, including:
- Assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the perioperative care of patients in theatre
- Providing skilled scrub support to surgeons and the multidisciplinary team
- Organising time, equipment, and staff efficiently to deliver safe care
- Administering drugs and treatments as prescribed, following hospital policies and procedures
- Guiding, instructing, and supervising junior staff, students, and Theatre Healthcare Assistants
- Deputising for the team leader following a period of support and training
- Complying with infection control policies and Theatre Standards of Care
- Participating in patient care audits and improvements in working methods and practice
Essential Skills & Experience
- Registered nurse or appropriately qualified theatre practitioner (NMC/HCPC)
- Experience working as a scrub practitioner
- Strong knowledge of surgical safety and infection prevention practices
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills
- Ability to perform well under pressure
- Commitment to maintaining high standards of patient care
- PVG scheme membership (or willingness to obtain) and the right to work in the UK
Highly Desirable
- Experience in plastic surgery
- Previous experience in a private hospital or independent healthcare setting
