About the Role
Waterfront Private Hospital is a premium, independent private hospital in Edinburgh, specialising in cosmetic and reconstructive plastic surgery, skin surgery, and dermatology. We are known for delivering high-quality, patient-centred care in a calm, professional, and discreet environment.
We are now seeking an experienced and dedicated Day Surgery Nurse to join our growing nursing team. You will care for patients throughout their day surgery journey, from admission and pre-operative preparation through to recovery and safe discharge home.
This role would suit an experienced acute nurse with a background in day surgery and plastic or cosmetic surgery, who takes pride in delivering consistently high standards of patient care and safety.

Key Responsibilities
The Day Surgery Nurse will be responsible for a wide range of clinical duties, including:
- Admitting patients for day surgery and completing pre-operative checks and documentation
- Assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating individualised patient care
- Caring for patients before and after surgery, monitoring their condition and responding to changing needs
- Administering medication and treatments as prescribed, in line with hospital policies
- Preparing patients for safe discharge, with clear aftercare advice and instructions
- Working closely with consultants, anaesthetists, theatre staff, and colleagues across the multidisciplinary team
- Maintaining accurate and confidential patient records
- Following infection prevention and control procedures and contributing to audits and quality improvement
Essential Skills & Experience
- Registered Nurse with current NMC registration
- Minimum 5 years’ experience working in acute services
- Previous experience in a day surgery setting
- Experience in plastic and/or cosmetic surgery
- Excellent clinical and communication skills
- Ability to work flexibly and as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Commitment to delivering high standards of patient care and safety
- PVG scheme membership (or willingness to obtain) and the right to work in the UK
Highly Desirable
- Previous experience in a private hospital or independent healthcare setting
- Knowledge of caring for patients after cosmetic surgery
