About the Role

Waterfront Private Hospital is a modern medical facility that aims to provide exceptional healthcare in a friendly atmosphere. We are currently seeking dedicated Housekeepers to join our team. This role is essential in maintaining our high standards of cleanliness and patient care, ensuring our hospital environment remains safe, welcoming, and efficiently organised.

Key Responsibilities

  • Hospital Environment Management: Ensure cleanliness and appropriate storage of equipment and furnishings, keeping them in good repair
  • Linen Management: Maintain linen supplies, ensuring availability, tidiness, and readiness for use
  • Kitchen and Nutrition Support: Maintain clean, orderly, and well-stocked patient and staff kitchenettes, monitor fridge temperatures, and assist with meal ordering and distribution
  • Stock Control: Order supplies and maintain adequate stock levels throughout the hospital
  • Safety Monitoring: Identify and report any faults or risks to patient and staff safety, initiating necessary maintenance work
  • Communication: Handle hospital telephone communications and visitor inquiries efficiently
  • Team Collaboration: Participate in meetings and contribute to cost-effective practices
  • Survey Management: Distribute, collect, and collate ward-based surveys to enhance patient care
  • Record Keeping: Track hospital equipment and create clear signage and informational displays

Essential Qualifications & Requirements

  • Good standard of English (written and spoken)
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Pleasant and friendly personality
  • Basic computer skills for effective information management
  • Commitment to maintaining patient and staff confidentiality
  • Willingness to obtain Food Handling Certificate (training provided)
  • Ability to respond effectively to emotionally challenging situations
  • Adherence to hospital dress code and professional conduct standards

Desirable Qualifications

  • 3 years’ experience in hospital or hospitality settings
  • Food Handling Certificate
  • SVQ qualifications
  • Experience with competence-based practice
